Grading the Indianapolis Colts' Top 5 Free Agency Decisions in 2015

Before free agency even began this year, I had predicted the Colts to be the AFC representatives in the Super Bowl next year. Now, with the solid additions they've made over the past few weeks, there is truly nothing standing in their way. Here's how I would grade their top 5 free agency moves so far.

5. Kengall Langford

The Colts needed a replacement for Cory Redding and have signed Langford to a four-year deal. Unlike his years in Miami, Langford struggled as a starter for St. Louis last year and was demoted to a rotational role. He will now be transitioning from a 4-3 to a 3-4 defense, so this may be a bit of an adjustment for both him and the Colts heading into the 2015 season.

Grade: C

4. Todd Herremans

One weakness for the Colts last season was their lack of depth on the offensive line. Signing Herremans certainly helps the case. He will not only bring veteran leadership to the line, but also provide solid run-blocking for the Colts, whether he's named a starter or not.

3. Trent Cole

The Colts have received one of the NFL's premier pass-rushers in Trent Cole. Although his age is becoming a factor, he will still improve this Colts defense and be a force alongside Robert Mathis.

Grade: B+

2. Frank Gore

The 49ers decided to go with the youngster, Carlos Hyde as their starter for next year, which worked out in the Colts' favor, as they snatched up Frank Gore to lead their backfield. The Colts' running game failed to establish an identity in 2014, which makes this deal so worthy. Gore's power and leadership is exactly what they needed.

Grade: A

The biggest move this offseason for the Colts was signing Andre Johnson, the perfect replacement for Reggie Wayne. This is exactly who they wanted and they didn't let him leave Indy without a deal. With many young receivers on the team, Johnson will pick up right where Wayne left off and provide them with great veteran leadership.
