2015 NFL Draft: San Diego Chargers 7-Round Mock, Post-Free Agency Edition

The San Diego Chargers have to be in win-now mode with an aging Philip Rivers. They didn't make too many moves in free agency which makes the draft even more important for them. Here is a look at their seven-round mock draft after free agency.

Philip Rivers was under constant pressure at the end of last season. Some of it was due to injuries on the offensive line, but they weren't that good to begin with. Ereck Flowers is one of the best offensive tackles in the class. He has the combination of rare size and quick feet that NFL teams crave for.

Byron Jones was one of the stars of the NFL combine by setting a world record in the broad jump. Scouts say that he is a natural leader and will be a great addition to any locker room. There are concerns about his man coverage abilities which might force him to move to safety. Either way, he would help bolster the Chargers' secondary.

Round 3: Marcus Hardison, DT, Arizona State

The Chargers need some help up front on defense, and Marcus Hardison would give them a versatile defensive lineman. He began his career at defensive end before moving inside last year. Hardison will need a lot of coaching to learn the nuances of the position, but he should be able to help right away as a pass rusher.

Round 4: Josue Matias, OG, Florida State

San Diego should look to add several offensive linemen in this draft. Josue Matias would be a good pick in the fourth round for them. He was a three-year starter at Florida State and excels in pass protection. Matias would give them some much-needed depth in the interior of their line.

Round 5: Titus Davis, WR, Central Michigan

San Diego lost one of Philip Rivers' favorite targets in free agency with Eddie Royal. Someone like Titus Davis would help fill that void. His biggest strength is his route running which is so important at the NFL level. He lacks some of the natural athleticism that is desired in the pros, but he makes up for it with his work ethic.

The Chargers also let Ryan Mathews go in free agency and should look to add a running back late in the draft. Malcolm Brown should be available late and is worth taking a look at. He is a tough runner and would work well in a platoon with Branden Oliver.

Round 7: J.R. Tavai, OLB, USC

J.R. Tavai is the kind of player you want to get late in the draft because he never stops working. He is relentless, and I wouldn't bet against him making an NFL roster. Tavai could be used on special teams as he transitions to the next level physically.
