With a new head coach in place, it’s a new era for the New York Jets, and that means once again rebuilding. The Jets have been fairly active during the offseason thus far, but with the 2015 NFL Draft less than a month away, that is now the team’s focus. Here is a mock selection of what the Jets may do with their six picks in the 2015 NFL Draft.

The Jets will keep building their team around defense. They need an impact pass rusher, so they're going to pick up one of the best the first round has to offer in Vic Beasley. He's an explosive athlete who can do more than get after the quarterback, but that is what he does best. Beasley will give the Jets an instant upgrade at pass rusher and make an immediate impact on their defense.

Round 2, No. 37 Overall - Jay Ajayi, RB, Boise State

The Jets may not be able to get a quarterback in this draft, but they should have no trouble upgrading at running back. Ajayi has quick feet and makes explosive cuts, and at the same time he runs with good power and can be tough to bring down. He is also a competent receiver coming out of the backfield, making him a versatile back. Ajayi also runs with a chip on his shoulder, which is something the Jets could use.

Round 3, No. 70 Overall - Paul Dawson, LB, TCU

The Jets need to add some depth at the inside linebacker position, and Dawson is a guy who may be able to contribute right away there. He has good agility and quickness, and shows great instincts when it comes to locating the football. Dawson is also able to drop back in coverage and is at his best when he's able to roam around in the open field.

Round 4, No. 104 Overall - Josue Matias, OG, Florida State

The Jets need to upgrade on the offensive line, and Matias will be a solid pickup in the fourth round after he finished his career at Florida State with 41 straight starts. He has good size, excellent quickness and shows great awareness in pass protection. He still has some developing left to do, but he has the size and athleticism that's worth the project, especially since he also has the versatility to play offensive tackle as well as guard.

Round 7, No. 223 Overall - Chris Hackett, S, TCU

The Jets have taken care of the cornerback position through free agency, but they could use some added depth at safety. Hackett is long and lean, and while he's not an impressive athlete, his football IQ and anticipation allow him to get to the ball faster than expected. That intelligence and discipline, as well as his propensity for creating turnovers, make him a player who can contribute to an NFL defense.

The Jets have good size at wide receiver with Eric Decker and Brandon Marshall, but they could use some speed and quickness at that position, which they can get from Goodley. His receiver skills are a bit raw and he's a bit undersized, but he has good hands and can make tough catches across the middle. Goodley also has experience as a kick returner, which will add to his value.
