“I did Bill & Tom a favor” How long til Revis uses the “I was hacked” excuse? pic.twitter.com/DlMPgLZgI2

The Instagram account of Darrelle Revis released some brutal barbs toward the New England Patriots organization. “I did Bill [Belichick] & Tom [Brady] a favor,” Revis “supposedly” typed. Then Revis later shrugged it all off, saying the New York Jets‘ corner was hacked.
My IG got hacked. No big deal!!! — Darrelle Revis (@Revis24) April 12, 2015
Will anyone actually buy this? I mean anyone that doesn’t bathe in the water surrounding Revis Island? The more I think about it, the more I’m not sure what to think. If Revis actually went on this trolling tirade, then the cover-up was brilliant. Revis spent the least amount of attention acknowledging something as if it truly were “just a hack” and didn’t deserve a second thought. Revis didn’t claim to be “outraged,” or use other viscerally charged terms now characteristic of liars since Rafael Palmeiro‘s infamous PED defense.
I don’t know Revis as a person and I have nothing better than a snapshot of his demeanor. I’m not sure whether to believe Revis or whether to call shenanigans on this seemingly weak excuse. But there is one thing I will believe from today forward: Revis’ social media accounts will now be facing the tightest of “press coverages.”
