Roger Goodell Sets Radical New Standard With Greg Hardy's 10-Game Suspension

This is not the 2014 NFL season all over again. The league has suspended Dallas Cowboys defensive end Greg Hardy for 10 games and for “conduct detrimental to the league.”

According to ESPN, Hardy’s suspension is the result of a two-month NFL investigation following the dismissal of Hardy’s domestic violence case vs. his former girlfriend Nicole Holder. This punishment fits the alleged crime, as Holder has testified (according to Deadspin.com) “I was so scared I wanted to die.”

For those of you who don’t remember the exchange between Hardy and Holder, here are a few brutal tidbits that recap the gruesome incident:

I believe in emotional rehabilitation and true contrition, but I agree wholeheartedly that Hardy does not currently belong in the league in light of what may be grisly findings. Pro football is a game of barbaric men, but not savages.
