The Washington Redskins will be on the clock in the first round for the first time since 2012 this year, and they are in position to add an impact player with the fifth overall pick.

With less than a week to go before the 2015 NFL Draft gets going, here are five rumors related to the Redskins right now.

Roy Helu's departure in free agency leaves Washington in need of better depth behind Alfred Morris. Running back shouldn't necessarily be a top priority for the Redskins during the draft, but a deep group at the position this year means a contributor can be found in the later rounds.

4. Drafting A Quarterback?

Tarik El-Bashir of CSN Washington.com thinks the Redskins will draft a quarterback. Washington State's Connor Halliday visited the team earlier this month, and he could be a Day 3 pick.

3. Brandon Scherff At No. 5?

Aaron Wilson of The Baltimore Sun and National Football Post has reported that Scherff is drawing "heavy interest" from teams that have a pick in 5-9 range overall. The Redskins of course sit at No. 5 right now, so that would seem to put the Iowa offensive lineman on their radar.

2. Did WR Amari Cooper Visit?

Wilson has also reported the Redskins are among the teams with a top-12 pick that have had Alabama WR Amari Cooper in for a visit. Chris Russell of ESPN 980 has contradicted that, based on what he was told, which is interesting if nothing else.

1. Is "Bud" Dupree A Target at No. 5?

According to yet another report from Wilson, the Redskins will be sending defensive coaches to visit Dupree in Macon, Georgia next Monday. I think there are a few pass rushers in this draft that are more worthy of the No. 5 pick, but if Washington trades down Dupree could be their choice a bit later in the first round.

Eddie Lacy Could Barely Handle 30-Yard Run

Eddie Lacy is a short yardage specialist, and when he breaks these long runs he definitely will come out of the game every time. This huge run setup the Packers' go-ahead touchdown and they would never look back. Lacy would get his later in the game.
