The the 2015 NFL Draft begins on April 30 and is sure to be full of surprising picks. The Pittsburgh Steelers hold eight draft picks in total and have several position needs they are looking to fill. Here are some bold predictions for Pittsburgh’s draft.

Despite the overwhelming need for help at CB, Pittsburgh will go a different direction in the first round. At pick No. 22 overall, Pittsburgh will see either Alabama safety Landon Collins or Nebraska defensive end/outside linebacker Randy Gregory fall to them. Both Collins and Gregory fit needs for Pittsburgh and grade out as better prospects than the CB options that will be available.

Collins is a better fit in the first round for Pittsburgh, but don’t count out the Steelers' desire to bring in an OLB to create pressure on the QB. Jason Worilds retired and Jarvis Jones has been a complete bust; Pittsburgh desperately needs help at this position. Utah OLB Nate Orchard could be a great get in the second round as a primary pass-rushing OLB.

Stanford CB Alex Carter will be Pittsburgh’s CB of choice in the draft. Carter shares a lot of similar qualities with recently retired Steelers CB Ike Taylor. Carter has a big body and is physical and active in supporting the run. He’s projected as a decent man cover corner, but could excel in a zone defense. Pittsburgh is a great zone blitzing team, and Carter seems like a solid fit.

2. Skill Position Players Will Be Added

Pittsburgh worked out six TEs and four WRs leading up to the draft. They need some help at TE, and Ohio State's Jeff Heuerman could be the answer. He is an athletic TE who could help Pittsburgh immediately in the passing game. Any TE drafted will help all-time great Heath Miller stay healthy and productive. Michigan QB/WR Devin Gardner also worked out with Pittsburgh, a team known for having success with multiple-position players.

Pittsburgh saw stability on the offensive and defensive lines for the first time in several years in 2014. There were too many other pressing needs that require multiple draft picks for Pittsburgh to consider adding depth on either side of the ball in the trenches.
