The Kansas City Chiefs are coming off a 9-7 season in which they missed out on the playoffs. Andy Reid will surely have his guys ready for the upcoming season, but it all starts with the draft.

Let's take a look at who KC picked up in said draft and give grades for each pick in the process (report card style).

One more thing: The 2015 season is a very long time from now, meaning a lot can change now until the season officially begins.

Round 1 (No. 18): Marcus Peters, CB, Washington

The Chiefs needed a CB and they got one in Marcus Peters. Considering he could be the best cornerback in the draft, I would consider this one a huge win for the Chiefs.

Round 2 (No. 49): Mitch Morse, OG, Missouri

Who knows if Mitch Morse has what it takes to be a starter in the league, but a solid backup is never a bad thing.

Round 3 (No. 76 ): Chris Conley, WR, Georgia

Giving Alex Smith more weapons to work with -- I like it. Chris Conley went for over 600 yards in each of his past two seasons. Not record-breaking or anything like that, but this is also a third-round pick.

Round 3 (No. 98): Steven Nelson, CB, Oregon State

Yet another CB for Kansas City. Unfortunately, Steven Nelson is not getting as much buzz as Marcus Peters (hence the third-round selection).

Round 4 (No. 118): Ramik Wilson, OLB, Georgia

Ramik Wilson more than likely won't start on Day 1, but that does not mean he won't be a starter in this league at some point. And for that, this is a solid pick by the Chiefs.

D.J. Alexander has speed. Speed is good. Unfortunately, he will likely not be taking the NFL by storm anytime soon.

A "basketball" tight end is always a very intriguing prospect, and the Chiefs got their hands on one in the fifth round.

Round 6 (No. 217): Rakeem Nunez-Roches, DT, Southern Miss

This late in the draft, no team can expect a perfect player, and Rakeem Nunez-Roches is certainly not perfect. A backup role in the NFL is not the worst job out there, though.

With your last pick in the draft, you might as well take a shot at a player who could be a future target for your team's QB, which is what the Chiefs did with their last pick.
