By not beating around the bush, LeSean McCoy beat around the bush and implicated that Chip Kelly might’ve been racially motivated in remodeling the Philadelphia Eagles roster.

It’s obvious that McCoy has some respect for his former boss, but at least passive-aggressively, McCoy has insinuated a powerful and racially-charged indictment.

According to ESPN, McCoy would go on to say “I feel like I always respected him [Kelly] as a coach. I think that’s the way he runs his team. He wants the full control. You see how fast he got rid of all the good players. Especially all the good black players. He got rid of them the fastest. That’s the truth. There’s a reason. … It’s hard to explain with him. But there’s a reason he got rid of all the black players — the good ones — like that.”
Regardless of the sing-song promotion, the NFL is a business from bleachers to balance sheet and myriad motivations exist behind every roster move. As a young white male that doesn’t play professional football, I won’t even pretend to understand both takes on this issue. But as a reasonable and pragmatic human being, I’m willing to not “100 percent agree” with both sides.
