The Chicago Bears selected West Virginia Mountaineers wide receiver Kevin White with the No. 7 overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft. White was considered the second-best wide receiver in the draft class behind Alabama‘s Amari Cooper, and the Bears were in obvious need of another receiver after trading away Brandon Marshall earlier this offseason.

There weren’t any better fits for the Bears than White, and he is a superstar in the making who will develop into a Pro Bowl player over the next few seasons.

At 6-foot-3 and 215 pounds, White is an extremely physical wide receiver who has received multiple comparisons to Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones. Assuming he continues working hard and responds to the Bears’ coaching staff, there is nothing that can hold him back. His potential is through the roof, and he hasn’t even come close to scratching the surface.

During his senior season with the Mountaineers, White had a huge statistical season. He caught 109 passes for 1,447 yards and 10 touchdowns on the year. West Virginia’s offense was among the most deadly in the country last year, but it wouldn’t have been close to that without White on the field.

Chicago is about to have one of the deadliest wide receiver duos in the NFL with White playing alongside of Alshon Jeffery. Marshall was a great wide receiver during his tenure with the Bears, but there is no denying that White is a better fit for what the Bears need.

White has gone through major struggles to get to where he is at now, and that will help him as he continues to strive for greatness. He is less likely to give up and stop working hard than a player who has had an easy path to the NFL. One thing is for sure: White has a burning passion for the game of football and wants to get better.
