The 49ers are a new team this season with all the additions and losses from their 2014 roster. There were some clear standouts during the 49ers OTAs this year, and they might not be who you expected.

While Vernon Davis probably needed to stand out more than anyone else on their current roster, the 49ers didn't know what to expect from Davis after his last season of poor performances, multiple drops, and contract holdouts. Insiders from the 49ers OTAs report that Davis is back to his true form and playing like the star tight end he wants to be perceived and paid as.

Jarryd Hayne is one of the bigger and more pleasant surprises of the offseason for the 49ers. Hayne's ball handling is reported to be smooth and consistent. He is engaged in the activites and learning alongside teammates such as Reggie Bush. If Hayne can learn to block and memorize the plays he could be one of the 49ers' most notable steals.

With recent exits at the wide receiver position, Quinton Patton has been handed an opportunity to stand out. While Patton certainly has competition for his spot, he has been working hard and making big plays. Patton caught an impressive 50 yard touchdown from Colin Kaepernick and has been speaking with confidence about his future with the 49ers.

It's no secret that Torrey Smith was the 49ers most expensive and possibly most valuable acquisition this offseason. Smith has been impressing his coaches, quarterbacks and teammates as expected. Video on the 49ers' main website reveals some impressive red zone plays that the 49ers sorely lacked in the 2014 season.

Any young player who gets the honorable mention from his head coach is an automatic offseason standout and winner. Tomsula and the coaching staff are impressed with his talent and his incredible work ethic. Thomas spent the last year on the bench but has been preparing and working hard for his debut in the NFL. Because of his hard work, could find himself a starter on the 2015 49ers' offensive line.
