The Pittsburgh Steelers are coming off of a solid draft and heading into the summer months with optimism for the upcoming season. However, it remains to be seen whether they have what it takes to make a Super Bowl run in the 2015 season. The upcoming season is largely dependent on these five unanswered questions.

Last year's third-round draft pick disappointed early, failing to carve out a role as a return man and proving ineffective in the running game. Archer was an explosive playmaker in college with a 40-yard dash speed of 4.26 at the NFL Combine It remains to be seen whether he has the strength or vision out of the backfield to contribute as a running back or if his talents are best utilized on screens and as a return man.

With Martavis Bryant seemingly destined to play outside opposite Antonio Brown, the slot receiver position is up for grabs. Markus Wheaton failed to lock down the position last year, meaning this year's third-round draft pick Sammie Coates has an opportunity to compete for the job. Coates is a bigger, stronger receiver, but it will be up to him to polish up his route running and learn the playbook.

3. Can Rookie Cornerbacks Start?

The Steelers invested a pair of draft picks in cornerbacks this year in an attempt to improve on last year's porous secondary. Neither second-round pick Senquez Golson nor fourth-round pick Doran Grant have the height that most teams look for, though they are technically sound players with good instincts. Golson is likely to start, and Grant will get his reps if Cortez Allen fails to regain his 2013 form.

2. Can Jarvis Jones Start At Outside Linebacker?

2013's first-round draft pick Jarvis Jones has been plagued with injuries and failed to inspire confidence after two years of struggling to find the field. Due to limited options at linebacker, the Steelers may not have any option but to start him, though if he is banged up and ineffective in training camp, veterans James Harrison and Arthur Moats may be forced to take on an increased role -- especially if Bud Dupree doesn't earn a starting spot.

Shamarko Thomas was drafted as the heir apparent to Troy Polamalu, and the time is now. Injuries have slowed down his first couple of years, so there is not a large body of work to look at from Thomas' professional career. A strong season from him is a key to the secondary -- if he can find the field, that is.
