The Washington Redskins will head south on Interstate-95 to Richmond, Va. when they begin training camp in six weeks. The Scot McCloughan era will officially begin with new faces on the coaching staff, including veteran offensive line coach Bill Callahan, new defensive coordinator Joe Barry and new QB coach Matt Cavanaugh. The five questions the Skins must answer in camp revolve around players who will work closely with those three.

Joe Barry joins the Redskins staff from the San Diego Chargers. GM Scot McCloughan aggressively sought to improve the defense in free agency, bringing in at least five potential new starters: NT Terrance Knighton, DE Stephen Paea, SS Jeron Johnson, FS Dashon Goldson and CB Chris Culliver. OLB Preston Smith, drafted in the second round, will be in an interesting training camp battle with Trent Murphy to start opposite Ryan Kerrigan.

CB DeAngelo Hall's return from two torn Achilles is a sight for sore eyes for Redskins fans. The secondary missed him last year, turning even average QBs into world-beaters. Hall says he's healthy, and his ability to contribute turns a flawed secondary into a unit that could be a strength for the 2015 defense. If healthy, he should play the slot on third downs, with Bashaud Breeland and Chris Culliver doing the heavy lifting on the outside.

Brandon Scherff, the No. 5 overall pick in this year's draft, must live up to his billing as the draft's top mauler. While many analysts feel that Scherff projects best as a guard, new offensive line coach Bill Callahan will pencil Scherff in to anchor the right side of the line at right tackle. He joins Trent Williams (LT), Shawn Lauvao (LG), Kory Lictensteiger (C) and Spencer Long (RG) to form a unit that must improve in 2015.

While LeSean McCoy, Jeremy Maclin and others have joined the list, DeSean Jackson was the first marquee name shipped out of Philadelphia by Chip Kelly. With rumors swirling about questionable off-field behavior, the Redskins still snatched up the big-play receiver last offseason. Their risk was rewarded, as Jackson led the NFL in yards per catch. Hopefully Jackson's absence from OTAs is not a sign of things to come.

Jay Gruden made it very clear at the NFL Combine in February -- Robert Griffin III is the starting quarterback of the Washington Redskins. That question has been answered, but the better question has not -- should he be? Gruden may feel his seat warming in just his second year and may be quick to course correct to Kirk Cousins or Colt McCoy if he recognizes that Griffin is not capable of running his West Coast system, even after a full year.
