There are high expectations for the Indianapolis Colts in 2015. The team believes their combination of solid veterans and young, talented playmakers can take them to the Super Bowl. Here are five early predictions for the Colts in 2015.

5. Trent Cole Will Be The Team's Sack Leader

The Colts signed Cole to create havoc in the opposing team’s backfield, and his past track record indicates he will do just that. He is going to have a lot of pressure on him until Robert Mathis returns from his Achilles injury. Cole has the speed and quickness to play the position still, and his ability to play on the right or left outside linebacker makes him a threat from any location of the defense.

This will finally be the year the Colts have a solid run defense. The additions of Cole, Kendall Langford and Nate Irving will help clog the running lanes for opposing teams. It would not be surprising if draft picks David Parry and Henry Anderson saw playing time too, as they are big and hard to move from the defensive line. The Colts should finally have an effective run and pass defense to match their dynamic offense.

The Colts have not had a 1,000-yard rusher since Joseph Addai in the 2007 season. This is a good year for the team to break that streak. Opposing teams will load their secondaries and pass rushers to stop Andrew Luck and the Colts’ receivers, and this will leave gaps for their physical running back Frank Gore to run through. Even though Gore is 31 years old, he still runs the ball hard, which makes him capable of reaching 1,000 yards.

The team gave Luck new weapons to throw to this season. T.Y. Hilton had over 1,300 receiving yards, so he will be beyond the 1,000-yard mark again this season. Andre Johnson is still a premier receiver in the NFL, so it is a good bet he will reach 1,000 yards too. One of the other Colts wideouts will have over 750 yards. Phillip Dorsett, Duron Carter and Donte Moncrief are too explosive to be covered by opposing teams' nickel cornerbacks.

With all the receivers and tight ends the Colts have, it is a forgone conclusion for Luck to be in the MVP conversation at the end of the season. Luck has improved his play every season, and he should up his play again this year. Everything on offense is set up for Luck to have over 5,000 passing yards and 40 passing touchdowns this season. The last player to do this was Peyton Manning in 2013, and he won the MVP that year.
