5 Early Predictions For New England Patriots’ 2015 Season

The only thing I’m positive in predicting for the New England Patriots is that the next 12 months won’t be as eventful, controversial or exciting as the past 12 have been for their fanbase. Nevertheless, here are five early predictions for the Patriots’ 2015 season as they attempt to defend their fourth Super Bowl Championship.

The Patriots drafted three defensive ends this year in an attempt to boost depth and find future playmakers at the position. Geneo Grissom (3rd Rd), Trey Flowers (4th) and Xzavier Dickson (7th) all have similar size and skill sets. I’m betting on Flowers to emerge from the pack of rookies to earn early playing time in a rotation. I think he has a little more versatility as a rusher and can win with variety and technique, as well as athleticism.

4. True Deep Threat Still Missing On Offense

The Patriots could never replace what Randy Moss gave them, but they need to find a player who can open up more space for the rest of the receivers. Aaron Dobson and Brian Tyms are the likely candidates to fill that role in 2015. Dobson is more proven, but Tyms has flashed ability to get deep. However, I don’t see either making an impact this season, partly because neither is polished enough to take playing time away from the top three receivers.

3. Offense Improves Statistically, Defense Stays the Same

The Patriots finished 11th in total offense in 2014, and with reinforcements along the offensive line combined with the addition of Scott Chandler, they should be a top 10 offense in 2015. Defensively, the Patriots have the talent in their front seven to match last season’s 20th ranking. However, statistics can lie, and how well the revamped cornerback position plays will go a long way in deciding how far the Pats can go in 2015.

2. Tom Brady Will Play Entire Season

Even though he knows he’s wrong, power-hungry commissioner Roger Goodell will likely only reduce Tom Brady’s suspension to two games. However, I expect Brady to not accept the commissioner’s decision and turn to legal action, which could delay his suspension until after the season. I also think if this goes to court, Brady, who now has the recent support of an independent study by the New York Times, has a very good chance at clearing his name.

If Brady misses four games all bets are off, but if he misses two games or none, I think the Pats will earn their 12th AFC East title in the past 13 seasons. However, I think they will go 3-3 in the division and lose games at Dallas, Indianapolis and Denver. Finishing 10-6 and edging the improved competition in the division, the Pats will earn the No. 3 seed and get by the Wild Card round before losing a road game in the Divisional round.

Watch Edelman, Amendola Get Summoned To Beach By Brady

Tom Brady …10-4

Posted by Julian Edelman on Thursday, March 31, 2016

The New England Patriots were defeated by the Denver Broncos in the 2016 AFC Championship Game which means it's time for some serious offseason work. Even if that means Julian Edelman and Danny Amendola have to stop protecting the public and head to the beach to meet Tom Brady.

New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski is quite possibly the most dominant player at his position in NFL history. That being said, he also loves to enjoy a good time off the field and he tried to capture what it's like to be 'Gronk' in his first post on his new Instagram account.
