The 2015 Pittsburgh Steelers has the toughest schedule in the NFL. Ten of the sixteen teams they play are coming off playoff seasons. Even the “worst” teams on their schedule have realistic postseason aspirations this season. The toughest part of their schedule comes right after their bye week. They close out the month of November with a trip to Seattle. In December they will face the Indianapolis Colts, Cincinnati Bengals, Denver Broncos and the Baltimore Ravens. The five opponents went a combined 55-18-1 last season. They close out the season against the Cleveland Browns.

Does Pittsburgh have any chance to get to the postseason? After the Le’Veon Bell suspension, I don’t think so. The team needs every win they can get and losing Bell for the first three games of the season didn’t help. Pittsburgh needs to do two things to make the postseason.

First, they need to sweep a division rival. They should look to win at least four games in the division. Cleveland would be the easiest opponent to sweep in the division. The second is that the team needs to have at least seven wins by the time they play Seattle. When the Steelers hit that streak of playoff teams to close out the season, they need some cushion if they struggle.

Ten wins will get the team in the postseason as a Wild Card team. Twelve will get them the division title. The team needs to be somewhere in that area by the end of the season. This might be the most talented Pittsburgh roster since their last Super Bowl team back in 2008. That season, they also had the toughest schedule in the league. And like that season, the team has a realistic possibility of missing the postseason and should not take any game for granted.
