NFL training camps will start soon, and the positive vibe surrounding the Minnesota Vikings is widespread heading into the 2015 season.

The Vikings will report to training camp in less than two weeks, and here are five rumors attached to the team right now.

Adrian Peterson is obviously back as the Vikings' No. 1 running back, leaving everyone else in a complimentary role at this point. But the Minneapolis Star Tribune expects McKinnon to be in the picture on third downs, and he could have success in the role after catching 27 passes as a rookie in 2014.

Robison suffered a pectoral injury while working out in May, and he missed all offseason practices as a result. He said back in June that he expects to be ready for the start of training camp, while deferring to Vikings' coaches and training staff. So if the team has any concerns about Robison's health, the door could be open for Scott Crichton, Danielle Hunter and B.J. Dubose to see more practice reps.

First-round pick Trae Waynes is not going to be handed a starting job, even if he plays a fair amount right away. That opens the door for Newman, who has a lot of experience in Mike Zimmer's defense, to open the season as the Vikings' starting left cornerback.

2. Will CB Josh Robinson Be Cut?

Robinson suffered a torn pectoral during Minnesota's June minicamp, and he is fairly certain to miss all of training camp. Though he could be placed on the PUP list to start the season, Robinson's roster spot is far from secure and I see this situation opening the door for the Vikings to release him with an injury settlement.

Vikings' offensive coordinator Norv Turner said in mid-June that Patterson is in the mix to start, even though he's coming off a dismal 2014 season. He'll have to usurp Jarius Wright as the team's likely primary slot receiver, which I find unlikely, and rookie Stefon Diggs could start to push Patterson out as the Vikings' primary kickoff returner with a strong showing during camp.
