The New York Giants are a solid looking team this season, and they fixed a lot of their major holes during the offseason. The team could look to challenge for a playoff spot this year. That said, the team does have some veterans that are holding the team back, and the Giants need to part ways with them. Here are five New York Giants who won’t survive training camp in 2015.

5. TE Adrien Robinson

Picked in the fourth round of 2012, Adrian Robinson only has five career receptions. They all came last season. The team already has Larry Donnell firmly entrenched as a starter, and while Robinson has more potential than veteran Daniel Fells, I simply don’t see him making the team. Robinson has had his chances to prove himself, and it is time for the Giants to move on from the bust.

4. G John Jerry

John Jerry just isn’t that good of a player. He started all 16 games last season for the Giants, and he was only decent at best. The team moved Justin Pugh inside to guard and already has Geoff Schwartz, so Jerry is only the third guard on the team at best. The team may opt to part ways with him as they really don’t have a use for a limited backup guard.

3. CB Jayron Hosley

Jayron Hosley had a decent but promising rookie season in 2012, but he has not improved since then. In the last two seasons, Hosley has played in only 17 games with three starts, and he has not been particularly productive. He only has 14 tackles and three passes defended. The team may decide that Hosley doesn’t belong there anymore, and that he was a waste of a third round pick back in 2012.

2. RB Rashad Jennings

The Giants have Andre Williams on the team, and he looks like he’ll develop into a solid lead back at the NFL level. The team also added Shane Vereen in free agency to add a stellar pass catching back to the fold. While Rashad Jennings could still fit in the backfield, he is too injury prone and expensive to keep around. I would expect the Giants to get rid of Jennings before the regular season so that Williams can get 20 carries a game.

Cullen Jenkins turned 34 this offseason, and his best days are far behind him. Jenkins only managed eight total tackles last season despite starting 11 games. The team simply has better options than him at this point in Robert Ayers and rookie Owamagbe Odighizuwa. Jenkins likely won’t beat either of them out. It’s probably time for the veteran to call it quits after a very solid career.
