Biggest Eagles Rumors Heading Into Training Camp

The Philadelphia Eagles are a team that has been talked about quite a bit this offseason, and for good reason. After seeing how coach Chip Kelly has transformed this team in less than a year, it's only acceptable that the Eagles are constantly being thrown around as a team likely to make another big trade before the season begins. With that in mind, here are the five biggest Eagles rumors heading into training camp.

This is actually a touchy subject for Eagles fans. There's no in between. You either like Tim Tebow or you hate him. But Tebow may very well have a legitimate shot to make the Eagles' 53-man roster as an emergency backup QB. While Matt Barkley is the better overall passer, he hasn't given enough reasons as to why he deserves a spot on the team, so why wouldn't the Eagles give Tebow a crack at it? He just might be a solid utility player.

One of the most intriguing rumors I've heard is that Mychal Kendricks will be shopped before the season starts. Kendricks has been shopped by the Eagles multiple times this season, including being part of a massive package to pry Marcus Mariota from the Tennessee Titans during the NFL Draft, which ultimately failed somehow. If the Eagles do trade Kendricks before the season, they'd be giving up one of the league's top young linebackers.

People often assume that Sam Bradford is going to take the Eagles' starting job with flying colors, but don't sleep on Mark Sanchez, folks. While Bradford may be the overall better option, his health is in serious question and he may not even be able to physically play come Week 1. If this is the case, Mark Sanchez will be called upon to lead this team like he did last year, which isn't ideal, but Sanchez is more than capable of doing so.

2. Riley Cooper Will Be Cut

Riley Cooper was anything but impressive last season. While it will be more expensive to cut Cooper than keep him around for one more year, the Eagles may feel that it's best to part ways with the receiver sooner rather than later. While the Eagles do not have any big-name receivers on the team at the moment, they are deep with young guns oozing with potential. If a guy like Rasheed Bailey has a good camp, Cooper's days may be numbered.

This rumor will never die. I refuse to allow it. If there's one thing Chip Kelly would absolutely love, it's getting his BFF Marcus Mariota from the Tennessee Titans. He already tried this once during the NFL Draft and came semi-close to something, but in the end, no cigar. Mariota still has not signed his rookie contract with the Titans, which is a head-scratcher. Maybe it's because he knows Kelly is about to make a move for him, eh?
