Every team has rumors circulating around at this point in the year, and the Indianapolis Colts are no different. A lot of the Colts’ rumors revolve around key contributors for the upcoming NFL season. Here are the five biggest Colts rumors heading into training camp.

A former basketball player at the University of Miami, Swoope joined the Colts in May of 2014 as a practice squad player. This year, he has a chance to make the active 53-man roster. The Colts already have Dwayne Allen and Coby Fleener, and those two are not going anywhere. However, there is belief in the organization that Swoope can beat out Jack Doyle for the final tight end spot during training camp.

Donte Moncrief had a decent rookie season and was set up to have a solid second season. However, the Colts decided to take wide receiver Phillip Dorsett in the first round of the 2015 NFL Draft which raised a lot of question marks. Moncrief and Dorsett have been battling for the No. 3 receiver spot. However, Moncrief should be concerned right now, because Dorsett looks poised to overtake him.

Free agent offensive guard Evan Mathis has not joined a team yet after being cut by the Philadelphia Eagles. The Colts continue to be rumored as one of his possible landing spots, but they do not want another expensive veteran offensive lineman. They don't need another lineman with injury concerns.

As surprising as it may seem, sixth-round pick Josh Robinson is in a competition with Dan Herron for the backup running back position. Frank Gore is the clear No. 1, while Robinson and Herron saw an equal amount of reps during minicamp and OTAs. This leads people to believe Robinson could get more playing time than Herron, especially if he performs well in training camp.

There is still no date for Robert Mathis’ return to the football field. He could start on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list which is something the Colts should really consider. If Mathis is on the PUP list at the start of the regular season, he would be forced to sit out the first six games. It would allow the Colts to rehab Mathis at their own pace, and they would not have to worry about rushing him back onto the field.
