There are just a couple weeks left before the Washington Redskins officially begin the season with the opening of training camp. That leaves some time to find out some of the most talked about issues surrounding the team. With that in mind, here are the five Redskins rumors as we head into the tail end of the month.

For years and years the Redskins have failed to produce an elite defense. The years of watching missed tackle after missed tackle are over. The new era of the defense has begun, and no longer will the defense will be the laughingstock of the NFL. The light switch finally came on this offseason, and the Redskins made all the acquisitions needed to address all their many flaws and weakness. Terrance Knighton and company are in the building now.

Morris has been flying solo in the backfield for three years now. The enjoyment of being a single bachelor back there has come to an end. With their third-round pick, the Washington Redskins selected Matt Jones. Jones has only impressed the coaching staff thus far, and it's hard to see that changing anytime soon. Morris needs to step up his receiving game. Until this happens, Jones looks like he will get the third-down touches.

3. Offensive Line Will Have More Problems Than Portrayed

Yes, the Redskins made a fantastic move getting Bill Callahan to help with the offensive line. They also made a great pick in the draft with Brandon Scherff. However, we all can’t assume that Callahan is just going to pick up where he left off when he was with the Dallas Cowboys. It took three years for the Cowboys to re-vamp their line. The Redskins are definitely on the right course in replicating this process, but let's not jump the gun here.

Everyone would love to say that Robert Griffin is the clear-cut starter for the Redskins, but I don’t think the team can fully commit just yet. Deep down everyone in this organization and the city are skeptical about the quarterback position. It doesn’t have to be spoken aloud. There is a reason why Kirk Cousins wasn’t traded in the offseason, and hasn’t been traded thus far. Cousins is still providing competition behind the scenes.

The Redskins have the talent and coaching to make sure that they don’t have another last place finish in the NFC East. There is evidence that the defensive and offensive needs have been addressed. Robert Griffin III is fully healthy and the mentality of the organization has changed. The Redskins will come out of the gate strong this coming season, and they are bound to turn some heads by creating some upsets. They will take the NFC by surprise.
