The Buffalo Bills are one of the more solid young teams in the league. The team doesn’t have many weaknesses, and they have a strong supporting cast overall. Still, there are some strong players on the Bills’ team that are more important to the team’s success than others. Here’s a look at the top five most irreplaceable players for the Buffalo Bills.

Cordy Glenn has quietly been a very solid left tackle for the Bills since the team drafted him back in 2012. Glenn has started 45 games over three seasons with the team, and he is a very solid blocker who is by far the best offensive tackle with the Bills. Without him and his reliability, the team would probably have to start Seantrel Henderson or Cyrus Kouandjio at left tackle. That would be a disaster for the team’s quarterback.

4. DE Jerry Hughes

Jerry Hughes does benefit from playing across from Mario Williams, but there is no question that he is a very talented player. Hughes has 10 sacks in each of his two years with the Bills, and he is the perfect complement to Williams. If the team hadn’t traded for Hughes, they never would have found a suitable counterpart to Williams, and Hughes is arguably the second or third best player on the Bills’ defense.

3. WR Sammy Watkins

Sammy Watkins is one of the better young receivers in the NFL, and he is by far the best receiver on the Bills. Watkins was a major threat during his rookie season despite dealing with a slight injury. He is only going to get better if he can stay healthy. Without Watkins, the Bills would have to rely on either Robert Woods or Percy Harvin to be the team's No. 1 receiver, and that likely wouldn't end too well.

2. DE Mario Williams

Mario Williams is one of the best pass rushers in the NFL, and he is almost unstoppable when rushing the passer. In three seasons with the Bills, Williams has started all 48 games and he has notched a whopping 38 sacks in those games. Without Williams, Jerry Hughes wouldn’t be as successful and as a result, the entire Buffalo defense would suffer. They probably wouldn’t have a top five defensive unit without Williams.

1. RB LeSean McCoy

It’s tough to say that a player who has never played a snap for a team is their most irreplaceable player, but I believe that is the case with LeSean McCoy and the Bills. McCoy is going to bring the Bills’ ground game to another level which will greatly improve their less-than-stellar offense. If he goes down, the team will have to rely on 34-year-old veteran Fred Jackson or a bunch of unproven players, which could capsize their offense.
