It wouldn’t be your typical offseason for the Dallas Cowboys if it wasn’t one that was full of drama, and this year they definitely didn’t disappoint in that area. But now that Greg Hardy’s suspension has been reduced and they were finally able to sign Dez Bryant to a long-term deal, the Cowboys can turn their attention to their upcoming training camp in Oxnard, Calif. Having said that, here are their five biggest rumors heading into camp.

For the most part, Hardy and the Cowboys won a huge victory last week when his suspension was reduced down to four games by arbitrator Harold Henderson but they are now considering taking the ruling to federal court with the hopes that it will be reduced down to two games or less. The courts could rule that the 15 games he was suspended for last year more than covers what the previous personal conduct policy required.

Ronald Leary has been more than solid as the starting left guard these past few years, but rookie La’el Collins magically fell in the team’s lap when a weird incident with the police sprung up the week before the draft. And because of this incident, a player who would have normally been a first-round pick went undrafted. So now the Cowboys have a wealth of talent on the offensive line, and Leary will likely be pushed out by the younger Collins.

Jerry Jones desperately wants Claiborne to finally figure things out so that he doesn’t completely whiff on yet another high first-round pick at the cornerback position. But the reality is, the Cowboys are now surprisingly stacked at cornerback, so you can expect them to give him every opportunity to play this preseason in hopes that other teams will see something in him that’s worth trading for.

2. Brandon Carr Will Lose His Starting Job

Carr improved his play towards the end of last season, but that doesn’t make up for the fact that he was well below average for the first half of it -- especially when you consider how much he’s being paid. The Cowboys drafted and love first-round pick Byron Jones because of his size, instincts and versatility; and you can certainly expect him and Carr to be in a camp-long battle for the starting cornerback spot opposite of Orlando Scandrick.

When the Cowboys let DeMarco Murray go this offseason and signed Darren McFadden to be his replacement, the general assumption was that he would be the starting running back in Week 1. But head coach Jason Garrett is known for playing the best player regardless of their pay grade, and third-year pro Joseph Randle continues to improve on the field with each chance he gets. Expect him to actually be the starter when the season begins.
