The Washington Redskins don't have nearly as much star power as the other teams around the NFL. However, do they have some core guys that are taking this franchise in the right direction. Here is a list of the five most irreplaceable players on the Redskins' roster.

5. Alfred Morris

His whole NFL career has been nothing but stability and exceeding expectations. He still managed to shine in an offense that couldn’t get it together and this is a position that the coaching staff doesn’t have to worry about. A hand-off to Morris is the safest play call that the Redskins can draw up for the offense as he’s guaranteed to get at least 4 yards on the play, which for the Redskins, is the best option.

4. Trent Williams

The Redskins’ offensive line has, as of late, has been causing fans to cringe. Williams is the only good thing that the Redskins offensive line has produced over the years, hence why the majority of running plays go to his side. He’s racked up 3 pro-bowls in 5 seasons. He’s given solid leadership to a helpless line and provided our quarterbacks with some type of protection from the left side.

3. DeSean Jackson

Jackson has revived a weak wide receiving core. He has proven that he can play at an extremely high level regardless of the quarterback position. His speed brings so much versatility to a stagnant offense and he can change the pace of the game at any moment. Whoever ends up quarterbacking for the Redskins will have confidence in their deep ball with Jackson on the outside. It really doesn’t hurt to have the fastest man in the NFL on your team...

2. Terrance Knighton

Knighton hasn’t played one game for the Redskins and already makes his way into the top 5 most irreplaceable players. Knighton also led the Denver Broncos to the second-best defensive line efficiency rating against the run. With that type of play, we can assume that the Redskins D-line will be much improved this coming season with the big “Pot Roast” in the middle.

1. Ryan Kerrigan

Kerrigan is the heart and soul of this defense and also one of the rising stars in the NFL. Not only has he turned into a monster on the field, but he has also turned into a mentor for the young defensive guys on the Redskins. This 6-foot-4, 260 pound man can stop the run, blitz the quarterback, run down ball carriers and cover the open space. He’s clearly the most talented player on the Redskins defense.
