Training camp is quickly approaching which means rookies will soon get their chance to prove they are worthy of the NFL. Despite having a group of comparatively low-profile rookies, the same should still be expected once the Denver Broncos open things up at Dove Valley. Here are five rookies to watch in training camp.

5. CB Lorenzo Doss

What makes Doss unique from his competition is his rare talent to force turnovers at will. During his time at Tulane, he racked 14 interceptions and, in 2013 alone, tallied seven. Clearly, he was one of college football’s best ball hawks and those skills should transfer easily to the NFL. Doss won’t start as long as Chris Harris and Aqib Talib are on the payroll. Don’t forget his name, though, as he has all the tools to be a formidable corner.

A Swiss army knife on the offensive line, Garcia will be competing at many spots all throughout camp. Most notably, he will contest Gino Gradkowski for top billing at center. The former Gator is a quick learner who switched to center his senior year, started all 12 games there and took home second team All-SEC honors at the position. Garcia’s flexibility is a great asset to Denver and could make him an impact player as soon as this year.

3. P Karl Schmitz

On his story alone, Schmitz warrants a closer look in camp. He garnered a following through the YouTube videos of him booting field goals and blasting punts. Plus, he is a 28-year-old rookie who was signed less than 36 hours after he had a solid showing at a free agent combine. Even still, Schmitz should be taken very seriously. A solid showing in camp would unseat Britton Colquitt and make him an important piece of the Broncos' Super Bowl run.

2. LT Ty Sambrailo

As Sambrailo heads into camp, it appears the organization has pegged him as the one to fill the large, All-Pro shoes of Ryan Clady. The second-round pick has been slowly getting better since he joined the team and drew praise from head coach Gary Kubiak for how quickly he has adjusted to the new scheme. Rookie status or not, Sambrailo’s task this season is a mighty one and one which is essential to the Broncos' playoff aspirations.

Ray put himself on the map early as a Bronco by publicly declaring his intentions to win Defensive Rookie of the Year honors. Yet, this is not the only reason to watch the former Missouri star. Ray is a freak athlete and skilled rusher. He may even make defensive coordinator Wade Phillips think twice before he chooses who will be starting at right outside linebacker when the season kicks off. Expect him to make his presence known either way.
