Another day, another chapter in the Dallas Cowboys soap opera.

With all of the recent negative media attention focused on his teammate Greg Hardy, Dez Bryant decided to put his name at the forefront on Thursday. According to Bryant, Jean-Jacques Taylor of ESPN Dallas used a racial slur towards wide receiver Devin Street. While Taylor is also black, Bryant didn’t take too kindly to the incident.

According to USA TODAY Sports’ Eric Prisbell, after Bryant finished screaming at Taylor, he turned his attention to MMQB columnist Robert Klemko, who had tweeted about the incident involving Bryant and Taylor. Apparently someone in the Cowboys’ locker room happened to be surfing Twitter and came across Klemko’s tweet.

This is what Bryant had to say to Klemko according to Prisbell:

“What the (expletive) are you doing?” Bryant yelled at Klemko. “If you’re going to report something, report it right! Report the whole thing. Don’t single me out like that! … That the (expletive) I’d be talking about right there!”

Later, head coach Jason Garrett came in and tried to calm Bryant down, but he wasn’t having any of it:

“Dirty, dirty, dirty, dirty, dirty, dirty. They (expletive) dirty, coach! They’re dirty! They’re dirty! All of them! And especially you!”

Bryant glared at Klemko.

Once things quited down in the locker room, Bryant took to Twitter to defend himself and explain his reasons for blowing up at the media.

Street later confirmed that Taylor had used a racial slur when talking to him, although there were other media members who stated that it never happened.

A few hours later, Bryant tried once again to explain his reasoning for what happened:

Unfortunately, this seems to be a he said/he said situation. If Taylor did in fact called Street a racial slur, not only would I back Bryant for what he did, I would call for Taylor’s firing. With other media members claiming that Taylor never used the term, it makes it very hard to know exactly what happened.

Either way, this is not what the Cowboys needed heading into a must-win game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday afternoon.
