The San Diego Chargers have suffered a number of injuries this season that has left their team playing short-handed most of the year. They need to rebuild their depth, and the decisions they make after the season will be key. Here are five players that the team should consider cutting this offseason.

The Chargers' run defense has been awful, and they will need to spend the offseason addressing their defensive line. They need to find an impact nose tackle who can cause more disruption up front.

4. Chris Watt

Watt has played very poorly the past two seasons, although he has battled numerous injuries. He has struggled at both center and guard, and must show more improvement this offseason or else he may find himself looking for a job elsewhere.

3. Donald Brown

It was an odd decision when the team originally signed Brown, especially since they did not have a lot of money to spend that offseason. Now, there are three players ahead of him on the depth chart, and the team should let him go for good after the season is over.

2. Mike Scifres

This will be a hard decision, as Scifres has been a very good punter over a long career with the team. However, he is an expensive option and no longer has the booming leg that used to help control field position. They could be better off looking for a younger player to save money.

1. Donald Butler

Butler has been a huge disappointment since signing his big contract, and the team has two younger linebackers who have more potential in the middle. Butler lost some weight and has looked quicker, but has not been able to make the impact that the team needed from him.
