New York Giants Rumors: Tom Coughlin Back on the Hot Seat?

For the last couple of seasons, New York Giants head coach Tom Coughlin has been on and off the hot seat. He started the 2015 campaign there, got off of it after taking control of the weak NFC East, and now appears to have returned after dropping the division lead to the Washington Redskins on Sunday.

Had the Giants pulled off the win on Sunday, they would have taken a strong, two-game lead on the division while owning the tie-breaker against the Redskins. Instead, they fell to 5-6 on the season and now own a subpar 2-3 division record. According to NY Daily New’s Ralph Vacchiano, that’s more than enough for Coughlin’s seat to heat up significantly.

Vacchiano mentions that Coughlin could be “pushed into a forced retirement he doesn’t want,” if the Giants fail to win the division.

Despite the late-game comeback attempt from the Giants, the entire team looked lackadaisical through the first three quarters, and didn’t appear prepared despite coming off of a bye week. If the G-Men continue to show this pitiful approach for the rest of the season, Coughlin can kiss his coaching gig goodbye.
