10. Blake Bortles - Jacksonville Jaguars

While his excellent sophomore showing hasn't translated to many wins for the Jacksonville Jaguars, what Blake Bortles has done in 2015 is nothing short of remarkable. Bortles is sixth in passing yards with 4,169 and second behind only the great Tom Brady in passing touchdowns with 35. If Jacksonville can fortify its defense in free agency and through the draft over the offseason, the Jaguars will be in the playoffs in 2016 thanks to Bortles' touchdown prowess.

9. Eli Manning - New York Giants

Whether you like it or not, Eli Manning has played at an elite level in 2015. Manning is seventh in passing yards with 4,134 and tied for fourth in passing touchdowns (33). Had the New York Giants showcased an average defense and decent running game this season, there's no doubt in my mind Manning would have led this team to a division title at 10-6.

8. Derek Carr - Oakland Raiders

The Oakland Raiders have clearly found the franchise quarterback they've been searching for over the past decade in Derek Carr. Through 15 games, Carr's tallied a solid 3,793 yards (11th in NFL) and an outstanding 31 TDs (tied for fifth with Drew Brees). With the proper additions on defense, Carr will be leading the Raiders to the playoffs in 2016.

7. Philip Rivers - San Diego Chargers

Don't let the San Diego Chargers' dreadful 4-11 record trick you into thinking Philip Rivers is no longer one of the NFL's premier quarterbacks. Rivers is second in passing yards with 4,564 and has thrown a solid 27 TDs in an offense void of intimidating weapons in the red zone. Had San Diego's defense been average this season, there's a solid chance Rivers would have led his team to the playoffs despite being devastated by injuries on offense.

6. Drew Brees - New Orleans Saints

You wouldn't know it by looking at New Orleans' substandard 6-9 record, but Drew Brees has put forth a sensational effort in 2015. Brees is third in passing yards (4,547) and has thrown an impressive 31 TDs (tied for fifth with Russell Wilson). Brees is still an elite quarterback and could find himself leading another franchise to the playoffs in 2016.

5. Russell Wilson - Seattle Seahawks

After struggling for much of the first half of the 2015 campaign, the Seattle Seahawks' pass attack has had quite a spectacular six-week run led by Russell Wilson's otherworldly performance. Wilson has thrown for a solid 3,827 yards (11th in NFL), rushed for another 541 and tallied an impressive 32 total touchdowns (31 passing, one rushing) now on the season, which is a stat line that seemed impossible back in October. Thus, Wilson belongs in every top-five conversation.

4. Aaron Rodgers - Green Bay Packers

Aaron Rodgers hasn't played like the NFL's reigning MVP this season, but he still deserves a great deal of credit for leading an overrated team to a 10-5 record and a playoff appearance. Rodgers has thrown for an average 3,530 yards (17th in NFL), but he has an impressive 30 TDs (sixth in NFL) to just seven INTs. Rodgers clearly belongs in every top-five discussion.

3. Carson Palmer - Arizona Cardinals

Carson Palmer is having the best season of his career in 2015 at 35 years old. Palmer was written off as "just too old" and "incapable of playing at an elite level" by life-long NFL experts over the offseason, but he has proved the masses wrong with 4,542 yards (fourth in NFL) and an astronomical 34 passing touchdowns (third in NFL). The Arizona Cardinals are 13-2 and will head into the playoffs with as much of a chance as any team to win Super Bowl 50 thanks to Palmer's amazing campaign.

2. Tom Brady - New England Patriots

Tom Brady led this list for most of the 2015 NFL season, but he heads into the final week at No. 2 after once again proving he's human in Week 16 against the New York Jets. However, Brady's first in passing yards (4,636), first in passing touchdowns with 36 and has led a banged up New England Patriots team through a ton of adversity to a first-round bye. Brady's been magical -- there's no other way to put it.

1. Cam Newton - Carolina Panthers

Although the Carolina Panthers' undefeated streak ended in Week 16, Cam Newton heads into the final week of the season as the NFL's premier quarterback. Newton's tallied a stellar 4,170 total yards (3,544 passing, 626 rushing) and leads the NFL in total touchdowns with an unfathomable 41 (33 passing, eight rushing). Newton deserves endless praise for what he's accomplished this season.
