The Philadelphia Eagles shocked the football world when they fired head coach Chip Kelly, making him the third head coach fired before the end of the 2015 season. While they do have talent, the Eagles need a coach who can take advantage of that talent. Here are five coaches that the Eagles should consider.

A former running back for the Philadelphia Eagles, Duce Staley is well respected in the organization and has been coaching with them since 2010, first as a special teams quality control coach and as a running back coach the last two years. He has already interviewed for the position, making him the first to be considered. However, owner Jeff Lurie will certainly bring in a couple of other candidates.

4. Sean McDermott

Sean McDermott has been a defensive coordinator for the Carolina Panthers since he left the Eagles and has been there the last five years. The Panthers, as every NFL team knows, have one of the best defenses in the league. With players like Brandon Graham, Connor Barwin, Fletcher Cox, and Byron Maxwell, the Birds have talent on that side of the ball. If the Eagles do decide to go defense, McDermott should be a top choice.

3. Hue Jackson

Leading the charge of a Bengals offense that has greatly improved this season, so much so that Andy Dalton was an MVP candidate, Jackson is a top name going around as a potential head coach hire for teams this offseason. A former player, he already has head coaching experience in Oakland where he lead the Raiders to an 8-8 season. As soon as they are allowed, the Eagles will most likely look to bring in the Bengals' offensive coordinator.

While a defensive coach may be the way to go for the Eagles, this year's top crop seem to all be offensive guys as is the case with McDaniels. He was a disaster in Denver. However, he has matured and has had more time under Bill Belichick since then. If given a second chance he could flourish.

There is no doubt Adam Gase is the top coaching candidate out there and for good reason. What he did in Denver and has done in Chicago with Jay Cutler this season has opened eyes around the league. He is a young guy looking for his first shot. While he did interview last year for head coaching positions, he came up short and spent another year as a coordinator. The Eagles would be an attractive spot for a guy like Gase.
