After their loss to the New England Patriots in the Divisional Round, it’s clear the Kansas City Chiefs must target these five players in the 2016 NFL Draft.

5. Taylor Decker - OT - Ohio State

Most NFL aficionados agree the Chiefs' biggest need heading into the draft is offensive line, and specifically offensive tackle. I'm expecting Kansas City to go in that direction unless something incredibly impossible to predict occurs.

Ohio State's Taylor Decker could be available at No. 28 overall, and if he is, chances are the Chiefs will pull the trigger.

4. Jarran Reed - DT - Alabama

With Mike DeVito and Jaye Howard possibly leaving town in free agency, defensive tackle could be a bigger need for Kansas City than it appears like currently. Alabama's Jarran Reed is expected to go in the late first round, and he would make for an excellent selection at No. 28 overall.

Kansas City clearly needs to add another dynamic wide receiver into the mix. Ohio State's Michael Thomas is expected to go late in the first round by many NFL Draft scholars, and he possesses the size, speed, athleticism and hands Alex Smith needs as a weapon.

If the Green Bay Packers take a pass on him at No. 27 overall, don't be surprised if the Chiefs make the selection.

If the Chiefs decide to take the best player available in the first round (unlikely to be offensive line), then they will have to fill the need no later than the second. Arkansas' Denver Kirkland should be available at No. 59 overall and would provide tremendous value in that spot.

1. Sterling Shepard - WR - Oklahoma

Sterling Shepard's a guy who could be an excellent weapon in the slot for Alex Smith, but he also has the ability to play out wide despite his slight frame (5-foot-10, 191 pounds). Shepard's versatility would be huge for Kansas City, and there's a swell chance he'll be available to the Chiefs in the third round at No. 91 overall.
