By Brad Berreman

Their performance in the NFC Championship Game left a lot to be desired, but the Arizona Cardinals are still one of the more talented teams in the league. Looking deeper toward the offseason, here are five free agents the Cardinals should target.

5. CB Morris Claiborne

It goes without saying that Claiborne has had a disappointing start to his career after the Dallas Cowboys took him No. 6 overall in 2012, but if he can find a way to stay healthy first-round caliber talent is presumably still there. Arizona needs to add some secondary help, and Claiborne looks like the kind of buy-low cornerback option they should target.

4. OLB Tamba Hali

The Cardinals got good production from Dwight Freeney this past season, and Hali fits a similar profile as an older player (32 years old) who has something to offer in a specific role. The Kansas City Chiefs couyld make an effort to re-sign Hali, but he may not be a huge priority with a couple of big in-house free agents on the defensive side of the ball.

3. TE Dwayne Allen

Tight ends are not prominent receiving options in Bruce Arians' offense, but Allen is a good blocker along with the ability to offer more as a pass catcher. It is worth noting that Allen's best season in terms of catches (45) and yards (521) came in 2012, when Arians took over as Indianapolis Colts head coach for 12 games in place of an ill Chuck Pagano.

2. OG Jeff Allen

Injuries have limited Allen over the last couple seasons, with an elbow injury costing in 15 games in 2014 and knee and ankle issues limiting him this past season. He's another free agent the Chiefs may or may not prioritize keeping, and the Cardinals could easily draw Allen to the desert with an aggressive offer.

1. S George Iloka

The Cardinals could use some safety help, and Iloka is set to hit free agency firmly in his prime (26 years old on March 31). An injury-plagued 2015 may drive his market value down a bit, but Iloka's 2014 breakout season (79 total tackles, three interceptions, 10 pass breakups) will make him a highly-coveted free agent.
