The Miami Dolphins had another disappointing season in 2015, and they’ve again reset things with new head coach Adam Gase leading a new staff.

With an eye toward making the playoffs next season, here are five prospects the Dolphins should target in the 2016 NFL Draft.

5. San Jose State RB Tyler Ervin

If Lamar Miller leaves in free agency, as expected, it's easy to anoint 2015 draft pick Jay Ajayi as Miami's new No. 1 running back. But Ervin's multi-faceted skill set, coming off a big senior season at San Jose State (1,601 rushing yards and 45 receptions with 15 total touchdowns) should make him appealing to the Dolphins. A lack of bulk is a concern, but Ervin reportedly added weight ahead of the Senior Bowl and could continue to add mass during the pre-draft process.

4. Minnesota CB Eric Murray

The Dolphins could use some secondary help, and Murray has the size (6-foot, 196 pounds), playing style and pedigree (three time All-Big Ten) to succeed at the next level. New Dolphins defensive coordinator Vance Joseph, with his history as a defensive backs coach, could easily push for the team to target Murray in the middle rounds.

3. Penn State DE Carl Nassib

The Dolphins may lose Olivier Vernon in free agency, and Cameron Wake is coming off a season shortened by an Achilles tear at 34 years old. Nassib had a fantastic final season at Penn State, with 15.5 sacks and 19.5 tackles for loss, and even though he's considered a raw prospect, Miami could use some upside at defensive end.

2. Arkansas OG/OT Denver Kirkland

Kirkland's sheer size (6-foot-5, 340 pounds) stands out, as does the fact he played guard and tackle at Arkansas. The Dolphins employed two of the worst starting guards in the NFL during the past season, along with an overmatched injury replacement at right tackle, so Kirkland should be an easy middle-round target for them.

1. Notre Dame OT Ronnie Stanley

The Dolphins need to prioritize upgrading Ryan Tannehill's pass protection this offseason, and Stanley looks able to step right in at left tackle. A trade up for the Notre Dame product shouldn't be ruled out, but the Dolphins could stand pat and No. 8 overall if there are signs Stanley will be available for them.
