A year after taking quarterback Marcus Mariota No. 2 overall, the Tennessee Titans will have the first overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft. With plenty of areas in need of a talent upgrade, here are five prospects the Titans should target in this year’s draft.

5. Maryland OLB Yannick Ngakoue

Ngakoue declared for the draft on the heels of a big junior season (13.5 sacks, 15 tackles for loss), and the Titans could use another edge rusher. There would be plenty of worse ways to use a mid to late-round pick.

4. South Carolina WR Pharoh Cooper

Wide receiver is not necessarily a big need for Tennessee, based on numbers more than quality. Cooper had a big sophomore season, earned All-SEC honors as a junior and has drawn a comparison to Randall Cobb. The Titans could use that versatility.

3. Miami (FL) CB Artie Burns

The Titans had just 11 interceptions last season (four from cornerbacks). Burns led the ACC in interceptions last season (six), and he has NFL size and track speed. Though he's considered raw, immediate playing time is there for Burns in Tennessee.

2. Boise State FS Darian Thompson

The Titans released Michael Griffin, which is addition by subtraction but creates a bigger need at safety. Thompson earned high marks during Senior Bowl week, and as a productive tackler and ball hawk, he would be an immediate starter for Tennessee.

1. Ole Miss OT Laremy Tunsil

Among analysts, Tunsil is basically a consensus choice for the Titans at No. 1 overall right now. Upgrading Mariota's pass protection is important and taking Tunsil, while shifting Taylor Lewan to right tackle, would accomplish that in a big way.
