By Bryan Zarpentine

The 2016 NFL Draft will be an odd one for the New England Patriots, as the team has been forced to forfeit its first-round pick due to Deflategate. After coming up short in the AFC Championship Game, the Patriots obviously have some needs to address, and here is how they may try to address those needs during the draft.

Round 2, 60th Overall - Le'Raven Clark, Offensive Tackle, Texas Tech

The Patriots have to make upgrades on their offensive line, and Clark is the best they'll find at the end of round two. He played left tackle in college, but he can fit almost anywhere in case New England adds a left tackle through free agency.

Round 3, 92nd Overall - De'Runnya Wilson, Wide Receiver, Mississippi State

The Patriots have no size and athleticism on the edge, but at 6-foot-4 Wilson helps to solve that problem. He's a bit raw, but if nothing else he can provide a target on the outside and in the red zone to complement New England's smaller receivers.

With Jerod Mayo retiring, the Patriots need to fill his spot in the middle of their defense. Injuries have caused Morrison's stock to drop, but he's proven to be a great player and great leader in the middle of a defense.

Young is undersized, but he has a great skill set and has a knack for making plays around the ball. If his size isn't an issue, Young has a chance to be a good complement to Malcolm Butler, or at least a great nickelback.

The Patriots need to draft multiple linemen, and Walsh could be a good value pick in round seven. He was an all-Big 10 performer last year and could fit at either guard or center, giving New England some options and flexibility.

Round 7 - Keenan Reynolds, Running Back, Navy

Reynolds was a quarterback at Navy, but running the triple option he ran like a half back. The Patriots need some youth and excitement in their backfield, and taking a chance on Reynolds could be just the thing they need.
