Report: New Details Surface About Peyton Manning's Accuser Opposing Shaun King Article

By now, I’m sure a large portion of NFL fans has read, or at least been briefed on the New York Daily News article written by Shaun King detailing an incident that happened at the University of Tennessee in 1996 involving Peyton Manning.

The allegations, if true, are disgusting, sickening and appalling. However, a report from BSN Denver seems to paint Jamie Naughright in a completely different light than the sympathetic figure King portrayed.

According to a report released by the Associated Press in 1997, Naughright had made 33 different claims of sexual assault or harassment against athletes, coaches, administrators and trainers from 1990-96. While that obviously doesn’t mean that those things didn’t happen, it’s at least a point of consideration that she’d been through this same process 33 different times before accusing Manning.

After receiving $300,000 from the Manning suit, Naughright waited until 2002 to file a defamation suit against Peyton and Archie Manning after the latter released a book titled ‘Manning: A Father, His Sons and a Football Legacy.’ It was then that Naughright brought up the claims that Manning put his naked genitalia against her forehead back in 1996, rather than in the original lawsuit.

Tom Stokes, who is the owner and founder of Sports Plus, recently talked to Fox Sports’ Clay Travis and revealed that he has voice recordings of Naughright saying that she was releasing documents to King because she’s broke and needs money. Travis then confirmed that Naughright’s home is in foreclosure status at the moment.

Stokes says there are three parts to this audio, and that he will release the most crucial ones at a later date.

In the 2002 suit, Naughright claims that she lost her job in part because the Mannings referred to her as vulgar. If you read through King’s article, he finds a couple of former teammates of Manning’s who say that Naughright was anything but. According to Stokes, however, vulgar would be an understatement.

“The mouth on this woman is phenomenal. She is bipolar or schizophrenic. This woman has mental issues that only a psychologist can resolve.”

Whether those claims are valid or not is unclear, though the following screenshots from her since-deleted Facebook account at least provide a brief, outsider’s glimpse at some of Naughright’s thoughts.

Travis also had Brian Farmer, who was a Tennessee State Trooper from 1990-2002, on his show on Tuesday. He was formerly friends with Naughright on Facebook until he received a weird message from her that read, “I’m sorry you had a stroke and can’t get laid, but I did know your father.” He was so taken aback by it that he blocked her, but then she began harassing him with texts and phone calls until he blocked her number completely.

Naughright wasn’t happy that he had been avoiding her, so she allegedly began telling people that Farmer was bisexual or gay. He told Travis, “I really hope the young girl gets some professional help and gets her life straightened out.”

And as for the claims of vulgarity, Farmer said, “She had the most vulgar mouth of any female that I have ever met.” You can read the entire story here.

Of course, we should all avoid passing judgment on this entire situation until all the facts are out. The King story pretty clearly painted a picture that Manning did something criminal and that he should have to pay the price for it, while this story paints Naughright as a chronological liar who has nothing but dollar signs in her eyes. Either side could be telling the truth, though it’s also entirely possible that the truth lie somewhere in the middle.

As more details from the story emerges, it’s important to keep in mind that the facts regarding those specific allegations are what matters, and that no one — whether it’s the accuser or accused — deserve to be vilified in the court of public opinion,
