The New York Giants are in prime position to come away from the 2016 NFL Draft with some major talent. Of course, that generally happens when you were bad enough to earn the No. 10 overall pick. It is imperative that GM Jerry Reese hits a home run this year and there is enough talent, especially on defense, to make that happen. With all of the Giants’ needs he should be able to fill one major hole with an outstanding talent. The Giants must land one of these five players in the first round.

Myles Jack, LB, UCLA — Jack would give the Giants a superstar at linebacker. He would also change the dynamic of their defense, improve their pass coverage and give them somebody to blitz at the second level. He would be a huge addition to Big Blue.

Vernon Hargreaves III, CB, Florida — Hargreaves has the talent to develop into a No. 1 corner, a position where the Giants are thin. Teaming him with Janoris Jenkins and Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie would give the Giants an excellent secondary.

Shaq Lawson, DE, Clemson — Lawson was ranked second all-around among edge rushers according to Pro Football Focus and his ability as a pass rusher is getting better. He would be able to step in right away and give the Giants depth and talent at DE.

Ronnie Stanley, OT, Notre Dame — Stanley was one of the most consistent pass blockers in the nation, and he would plug right in at RT for the Giants. Stanley needs work, especially at run blocking, but he could be a cornerstone on the offensive line.

Leonard Floyd, OLB, Georgia — Floyd is developing as an edge rusher and was ranked the fifth best in the country last year. He needs to add bulk but could line up at DE in the 4-3 or blitz off the edge at OLB.
