The Cleveland Browns made a bold move by trading away the No. 2 overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft in order to collect several more draft picks. However, the Browns pick No. 8 overall pick in Round 1, and after making mistakes with their first-round picks in recent years, they have to get this one right. Cleveland needs to walk away from the first round with one of these five players.
5. Vernon Hargreaves III, CB, Florida
Kim Klement - USATODAY SportsThe Browns wouldn't mind adding a second lockdown cornerback to complement Joe Haden, and Hargreaves is considered by most to be the best corner available. Whether he'll be available at No. 8 is another question, but he's definitely an option.
4. Shaq Lawson, DE, Clemson
Getty ImagesThe Browns need some help in the pass rushing department, so Lawson has to be on their radar, despite not being a natural outside linebacker in a 3-4 scheme.
3. Laquon Treadwell, WR, Ole Miss
Getty ImagesCleveland is severely lacking in big-time wide receivers, so taking Treadwell in the first round wouldn't be a bad move. He would immediately become their top receiver and an asset to whoever ends up playing quarterback for the Browns.
2. Reggie Ragland, LB, Alabama
Getty ImagesMiddle linebacker isn't the need to address with a top-10 pick, but the Browns need someone in the middle of their defense who can help them get better at defending the run. If their other options are off the board, Ragland isn't a bad pick.
1. Ezekiel Elliott, RB, Ohio State
Getty ImagesDrafting a running back this early wouldn't necessarily be a smart move by the Browns, but Elliott is a brilliant playmaker and someone who could make a difference for the Cleveland offense. This is definitely one direction the Browns could go.
