Josh Norman Has Agreed To A Deal With Washington Redskins

By Jason Fletcher

On Wednesday, the Carolina Panthers made the shocking move to pull the franchise tag from their top corner Josh Norman. Norman was widely regarded as one of the top corners in the NFL during the 2015 season, but he made it known to the team that he wasn’t going to show up to any workouts or camps without a long-term deal.

The Panthers reportedly offered him a five-year $50 million deal, but he wanted something closer to five years and $75 million. The team didn’t feel like any sort of compromise was going to be attainable so they pulled the franchise tag.

On Friday evening, news emerged that the New Orleans Saints had entered the conversation as a strong suitor for Norman, along with the Washington Redskins who he was visiting today. According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Norman has made his decision.

The Redskins have to be the favorite to win the NFC East once again next season. The offense was lights out in 2015 and they return pretty much everyone aside from Alfred Morris. Now with Norman in tow, the Redskins have two great corners which will allow the defensive line to get more pressure. It wouldn’t surprise me to see them win 10-11 games in 2016.
