Tennessee Titans Must Land One Of These 5 Guys In First Round Of 2016 NFL Draft

By Taylor Sturm

The Tennessee Titans had the worst record in the NFL last season, but will be hopeful they can make a huge jump this season thanks to six picks in the top 76 of the draft. Selecting at No. 15, the Titans will have their pick of the mid-first round players and should be able to find an immediate starter at any number of positions. Here are five players the Titans must try and snag in the first round.

The Titans would love to have a player like Apple in their secondary, but it would be a bit of a reach to snag him at No. 15. However, he fits an immediate need and might be the perfect solution if other players on the big board get taken early.

4. Laquon Treadwell

The Titans need a dangerous receiver, and Treadwell is all that and more. His speed issues are a concern, but he makes up for it with his all-around skill set. I still think the Titans should wait and draft Will Fuller in the second round, however.

3. Jack Conklin

Conklin is a great tackle who has hovered in the mid-teens since some of the earliest 2016 mock drafts. The Titans need to protect Marcus Mariota, but do they have enough faith in the ability of Taylor Lewan to transition to right tackle?

2. William Jackson III

Fans might not be too thrilled with the Titans if they make this pick due to the unfamiliarity with American Athletic Conference football, but the former Cougar is unbelievably fast and could be a perfect addition to the Titans’ thin secondary.

1. Taylor Decker

There might not be a better match in the 2016 NFL Draft than the Titans and Decker. Conklin is a projected higher pick, but Tennessee has a need at RT and not LT. It is too soon to give up on Taylor Lewan, and Decker would fit into this OL perfectly.
