Boasting a talented roster with one of the better defenses in the NFL, the Bills might even be able to compete with the New England Patriots in the AFC East thanks to the suspension of Tom Brady. Here are the five biggest games on the Bills’ 2016 schedule.

Sept. 15 vs. New York Jets — Buffalo begins the season on Sept. 11 and has to face an AFC East opponent at home just four days later. Winning this game could set the tone for the season and allow for the national hype to start building around this talented squad.

Dec. 4 at Oakland Raiders — The Raiders are a far better team this season than they have been lately, but this is a clearly winnable road game for the Bills.

Oct. 30 vs. New England Patriots — The Bills will not win the AFC East unless they find a way to at least split the series with the Patriots. This matchup is at home, so a win here could be necessary to their playoff hopes.

Nov. 20 at Cincinnati Bengals — The Bengals are a playoff team from last season that could be fighting for a Wild Card berth in 2016, and they will face the Bills on the road right after their bye week.

Oct. 2 at New England Patriots — Tom Brady is suspended for the Bills’ road game against the Patriots. In what should be a tight AFC East race, a win in this one is absolutely crucial.
