The worst kept secret in the NFL has finally become reality as the Los Angeles Rams selected Cal quarterback Jared Goff with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft. Rumors started swirling as soon as the Rams made the trade with the Tennessee Titans to acquire the top pick that Goff was the guy they were targeting, and it only became more prevalent as the draft approached.

With Case Keenum and Nick Foles already on the roster, it will be interesting to see if the Rams decide to start Goff in Week 1 of the 2016 season. In a best-case scenario, Goff would sit for at least part of the season before taking over, but with the team desperate to make an immediate splash in their first season in Los Angeles.

In 2015, Goff threw for 4,719 yards, 43 touchdowns and 13 interceptions as he led the Bears to an 8-5 record. He’s now the future of the entire Rams’ franchise.
