Jacksonville Jaguars Get A Steal By Drafting Myles Jack

By Geoffrey Knox

Many draft experts and analysts projected Myles Jack to be selected as high as the No. 5 player in the NFL Draft, but the guy many believed to be the best linebacker slid all the way out of the first round and landed with the Jacksonville Jaguars. Many of those same experts even listed Jack as the second-best athlete in this draft class. The Jaguars may have gotten a steal.

The question that probably pops up is if Jack is so good, why wasn’t he picked in the first round? Some of you already know the story, but then again, some of you all may just be getting familiar with these guys now. For the latter, here’s a little background info.

For the better part of the last two months Jack’s knee has been a big topic. Honestly, if you really paid attention to it, a lot of these reports would have you thinking the guy might never walk again. What we do know is there are some ligaments that have separated from the bone and another surgery may be required.

Knee injuries are scary, especially in football, but shortly before the draft, Jack went as far as to post a video showing himself dunking a basketball on Twitter. He wanted to show everybody that the knee isn’t that big of an issue and he’s fine physically. What isn’t shown on the Twitter video is the fact that things can still get worse.

The Jaguars got Jalen Ramsey after many people thought he would go to the Dallas Cowboys. They picked up Jack with the 36th pick in the draft. Many are asking questions about whether Jack might not be what everyone thought he was physically. Ask yourselves another question — what if he is?
