Terrell Owens Says Sam Bradford's Trade Request Is 'A Sign Of A Coward'

By Brad Berreman

Upon realizing he would probably not be the Philadelphia Eagles‘ quarterback beyond the 2016 season, if even for that long, Sam Bradford has requested a trade, avoided offseason work and withdrawn from communication with the team. That has opened him up to criticism, most if not all of it totally justified, and now a former Eagle has weighed in.

TMZ Sports caught up with Terrell Owens, and he had some comments about Bradford’s situation.

On Bradford’s trade demand:

(it)”was not a great move for Sam to want to request a trade being that they were getting a No. 1 pick. For me, that’s kind of a sign of a coward, to be honest.”

Owens also weighed in on a potential training camp battle between Bradford and No. 2 overall pick Carson Wentz, saying it’s “Bradford’s job to lose.” That backs up assertions from the team that Bradford is their starting quarterback right now, which Owens seemed to have in mind even without inside knowledge.

Owens might not be a good authority on toeing the line, since he forced his way out of Philadelphia in 2005 and was sent home for the rest of that season for being so disruptive. But the one thing that was never questioned about Owens when he played was his competitive nature, so while calling someone a coward is aggressive he is spot on as Bradford backpedals from having to compete for a job.
