Joe Montana Would Take Eli Manning Over Tony Romo

By Jason Fletcher

For whatever reason, the debate between who’s a better quarterback between the New York GiantsEli Manning and the Dallas CowboysTony Romo has been ongoing for a while. I don’t know if it’s because of the two being division rivals and their fans need to puff their chest about who’s better, but the truth is that neither is all that special.

Sure, Manning has won two Super Bowls, but that was more or less just catching fire for four games in two different seasons. He’s always been a turnover machine and in 12 seasons, he’s only led the Giants to double-digit wins in three of them. Romo, on the other hand, has led the Cowboys to double-digit wins in three of 11 seasons, but he has never advanced past the Divisional Round of the playoffs.

Hall of Famer Joe Montana was on the “Boomer and Carton Show” in New York on Wednesday, and given the two choices, Montana said he would have to take Manning.

“Yeah, I’d definitely take Eli over Romo,” Montana said.

If you know Montana, then you know he’s all about championships, so I’m sure that was a huge determining factor for the four-time Super Bowl champion.
