The San Diego Chargers did a good job of filling needs and adding talent to their roster, although they could have added more depth to their secondary and offensive line during the 2016 NFL Draft. A lot of this draft will hinge on how great Joey Bosa can be and finding his fit with the defense. Here are the grades for every pick.
Round 1: Joey Bosa, DE, Ohio State

Bosa fills a huge need, and he seemed to be a forgotten name leading up to the draft. This could turn into a really good pick if he can display his versatility along the defensive line and dominate against both the run and the pass.

Getting someone to eventually replace Antonio Gates is important, but there were plenty of impact defensive players available at the top of the second round. Henry has reliable hands but needs to get better as a blocker.

Tuerk was one of the better interior linemen last year before getting hurt, and he has the versatility to play multiple positions. It may take him a while to get back onto the field, but he could be a starter in a year or two.

Perry was a very good pick for the Chargers in the fourth round, and he has the potential to become a starter down the road. He should immediately compete on special teams and may even push some starters at inside linebacker.

Brown might be undersized, but he has plenty of speed and can be moved around on defense based off of matchups. It wouldn’t be a surprise to see him on the field in dime or nickel packages, and he should contribute on special teams.

It is hard to justify taking a punter before the last round, but Kaser has a huge leg and allows the team to save money by cutting Mike Scifres.

The team needed to invest in a fullback, and Watt has experience blocking for Melvin Gordon. He is versatile enough to catch the ball out of the backfield and is a very good addition to the team.

Clark is good value in the last round and could compete for a roster spot. The team needed to add more depth on the offensive line, and it's a concern that they waited until the last round to do so.
