Ranking The 5 Worst Quarterback Situations For NFL Teams In 2016

The NFL has some teams that desperately need to get a quarterback to compete. Teams are always searching for their answer at the most important position on the field, but it’s getting harder and harder to find a franchise player. The following five teams are perfect examples of that, as their passers are in the worst situations heading into the 2016 NFL season.

Yes, No. 1 overall pick Jared Goff has potential, but he does not have many offensive weapons to work with. Plus, he does not yet have an NFL ready body. If he gets hurt, then the team will have to throw Case Keenum or Nick Foles into the fire.

Although I am a fan of Paxton Lynch, I'm not sure he will be ready to start in his rookie season. If he cannot succeed, Mark Sanchez will be a mediocre backup at best while Trevor Siemian is not even a lock to make the team.

3. San Francisco 49ers

Colin Kaepernick does not want to play for the team. Chip Kelly wants to start Blaine Gabbert, who is a good backup, but not a starter. Sixth round rookie Jeff Driskel might get pressed into action which would not help the 49ers win many games.

If Ryan Fitzpatrick is not re-signed, then Geno Smith, Bryce Petty and Christian Hackenberg will battle for the starting job. That is a recipe for disaster, as the only one with upside is Hackenberg, and he's still a very raw player.

The Browns' main quarterbacks are reclamation project Robert Griffin III, 36-year-old Josh McCown and West Coast offense wonder kid Cody Kessler. They have three other quarterbacks as well. None of them project to be starters.
