By Geoffrey Knox

“America’s Team” walked into the 2016 NFL Draft with some some holes to fill, and a little over a month later, there’s still some concern as to what the Dallas Cowboys must have been thinking. Some have argued this draft puts Dallas back in the driver’s seat in the race for the NFC East. Others believe the Cowboys strengthened themselves in areas where they were already set but may have forgotten to address glaring needs as the draft took place. Here are five takeaways after analyzing some of the team’s newest additions.

This team needs more pass rush desperately. Their two best pass rushers will serve four-game suspensions, and the Cowboys responded by taking Jaylon Smith (who had high grades but will probably need a year to get healthy) and Charles Tapper.

What's amazing is you can't even get through the draft without a Dez Bryant disruption. First he tweets he wants Ramsey. Then after Elliott is taken he tweets "we'll see what happens". That's not really how a team leader should welcome a teammate.

Dak Prescott did a lot for the Mississippi State Bulldogs, but history has shown us that his is a skill set that doesn't normally translate well to the NFL. Cowboys fans should see Romo's importance now, but if he goes down, there are issues.

Well, the Cowboys added Alfred Morris to an offense that was already winning time of possession. Then they took a workhorse with breakaway potential. This team will put up a ton of points; they just can't get after the quarterback or cover anybody.
