Veteran cornerback Darrelle Revis is probably one of the few people in this world that wishes it was 2016 again, as 2017 has not been kind to the former All-Pro star.
Last month, Revis was arrested in South Pittsburgh over an incident in which two men were assaulted, and is facing four felony charges.

To make things worse (depending on how you look at it I suppose), Revis was recently informed by the New York Jets that he will be released.

Revis is just 31 years old. If he wants to continue playing in the NFL, you know there’s at least one team out there that will take a chance on him despite his declining skill set and pending legal issues.
With that in mind, here’s a look at five potential landing spots for Revis in 2017.
5. New England Patriots

The New England Patriots have a history of rolling the dice on players with off the field issues, and head coach Bill Belichick was said to be a fan of Revis during his one season with the Patriots in 2014. On a team-friendly deal, New England would sign Revis in a heartbeat.
4. Pittsburgh Steelers

Revis is from the Pittsburgh area, and obviously played in college at Pitt. The Steelers undoubtedly need help in their secondary, but I don't expect them to be incredibly aggressive this offseason if Ben Roethlisberger retires. If Big Ben stays, signing Revis makes plenty of sense.
3. Carolina Panthers

The Panthers failed to replace Josh Norman last offseason and surely need help on defense after falling apart in 2016. Signing Revis could end up being a somewhat inexpensive way for Carolina to improve in a pass-happy NFC South.
2. Dallas Cowboys

Just like New England, Dallas has taken plenty of chances on guys with legal issues through the years. Cornerback is arguably the Cowboys' biggest need this offseason, and Jerry Jones always wants to win now. If Tony Romo is released as expected, Dallas will easily have the cap space to add Revis.

The Dolphins made a surprise playoff appearance this winter, but clearly need to improve on defense if they want to truly make a run in 2017. Thus, Revis on an affordable one-year deal wouldn't be the craziest signing in the world.
