Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo Retiring, Heading to CBS Broadcast Booth

By Anthony Blake

It’s been a long, drawn-out saga with Tony Romo this offseason, as the Dallas Cowboys put the writing on the wall and nearly released the quarterback at one point.

But now, instead of joining the Houston Texans or Denver Broncos for one last run at a Super Bowl, Romo will be heading to the broadcast booth.

CBS has courted Romo over the past few months in hopes of landing him for their top NFL broadcast pair.

Though this seems like an unsatisfying conclusion, it’s probably what’s best for Romo given his back ailments and uncertain health over the past 24 months or so.

He’s already said farewell to Cowboys fans in an emotional video, so let’s just hope he can casually transition to the booth on Sundays in the near future.
